Having Full Trust In God Alone

In psalms 9:10 scripture tells us those who know your name trust you because you have not abandoned anyone who seek you, Lord.(KJV)

There are three points of wisdom that is found in this verse.

  • Those who know God‘s name, trust him.
  • He does not abandon anyone who seeks him.
  • Lord. Is he truly Lord of your life?

Those who knows Him, trusts Him.

It is important to differentiate between knowing God then the knowing of God. Relationship with God starts by our trust with God. Intimacy with God helps us to know him. It is not enough to know of God from the standpoint of head knowledge but not heart knowledge. Any healthy relationship there has to be trust. Where there is no trust, there is no foundation.

Proverbs 3:5-7 trust in the lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil.(KJV)

To fully trust God means not half heartedly. With all of your heart, trust him. If you lean on your understanding than you are not leaning on the word of God. One can say “I know what the word of God says,” but do you really trust him at his word to live it out. If you truly trust God, then trust him with all of your heart. In all of your ways, acknowledge him. Do you acknowledge God in all your ways? Do you realize that it is not enough to say I know God and He should direct my path. He will not direct you in His will if you don’t acknowledge Him with all of your heart. To acknowledge mean to honor Gods in the areas of worship and testimony of what God does in our lives. Worship is the acknowledgement of God when we sing praises to Him, and when we tithe and bring offerings to him. By not only be hearers of the Word but become doers of the word of God. May we not be wise in our own eyes but may we also fear the Lord and depart from our evil wicked ways.

God does not abandon us, If we seek Him.

Abandonment is defined as the act of leaving something or someone. It could be also defined as a state of being abandoned, left behind. There are times in our life to where we can experience a very toxic relationship that will oppress us or oppress others around us. The fear of leaving is being afraid of what others may think and the fear of being left is not being accepted to the standards of those around you. It manipulates a person to being dependent upon others because of their need to be controlled by compromising themselves.

Codependency is defined as a psychological condition or a relationship in which a person manifesting low self-esteem and a strong desire for approval has an unhealthy attachment to another person. I absolutely believe that codependency of man is the number one reason why people do not seek God first. Codependency of man erodes the foundation of trust in God.

Codependency is a form of manipulation of a person being equipped to having power and control over those who struggle with their own self worth. Those whose have low self esteem will compromise themselves to become codependent so that they are accepted. They will compromise themselves to seek the approval of man more than that of God. By doing so, it gives birth to sin that separates man from God. That separates them from His will, His direction, and His purpose in their lives. We cannot claim God’s word in our lives if we are bent to fulfill man’s will and not God’s.

So if our dependency upon the Lord is important in his eyes then we know that they’ll be times in our lives to where we’re not going to please man. But praise be to God that we can hold true to Gods word in this passage from the prophet Isaiah.

Isaiah 26:2-4 Open ye gates that the righteous nation which keepeth the truth may enter in. Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Trust ye in the Lord for ever:for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength. (KJV)

We have peace through his word that he will not abandon us. We are accepted by his grace filled eyes and loved unconditionally to the point that his love for us keeps no record of wrongs. We trust God at his word that he will not abandon us as long as we seek him. Seek him first!

Deuteronomy 4:29 But if from thence thou shalt seek the Lord thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul. (KJV)

Lord – Is He truly Lord in your life.

You may be reading this message and say that you know of God but does God know of you? Have you yourself fallen into the trap of trusting man more than God? Maybe your dependency has been more focused on the acceptance that you receive from others, which in turn, has made you compromise your dependency on God.

If you feel that you have been abandoned, left behind, or lost I want you to have hope knowing that God knows those who trust him.

By putting your trust in him I want to give you the promise that God will not abandon us if we seek him.

Starting today make God the Lord of your life. In all areas of your life. God wants us to not be so dependent on the things of this world or others, especially when he is standing before you with his arms wide open.
